Off to Japan
Published: October 24th, 2007Leaving today, on my birthday, to Japan for the next 11 days. If anyone has any advice on what to do over there, or even some necessary words I should know; I’d appreciate it!
I’m going to be in Japan for the next 11 days, mainly in Tokyo. It’ll be my first time there, I’m quite excited right now; everyone is telling me it’ll be a blast. The occasion? Well, partly because it’s my birthday, and partly just to have a vacation.
The best part? I don’t know a word of Japanese, and have no idea what to even do over there! If anyone has any knowledge of Japan, I’d love a tip or two on some words, and maybe even some places to check out in Tokyo! Heck, if anyone happens to live over there, let’s meet up!
Wish me luck on the flight!
p.s I’m going to be working on the new staticmatic blog post, as well as some other tutorials for haml, sass, etc. Stay tuned! Oh, I’ll probably be posting updates on Japan as well, hope nobody minds non-tech stuff for the following week.

Look for Jangara Ramen (there’s a branch in Akihabara). Or try this: http://www.dannychoo.com/blog_entry/eng/1193/Tokyo+Ramen/
Akihabara was very interesting to me because of the anime, of course. Outside of Tokyo city, I liked Nikko a lot (it’s a long train ride from Tokyo) - you should see if you can make a side trip there.
Hope you’re having fun in Japan! We missed you at Yoga tonight.
Along with Akiba, I think Nakano Broadway is also a great place for anime stuff. There’s a Recomints shop there with used CDs and DVDs. Nakano definitely had me wishing I brought more money.

Update, if you guys want to see photos on my trip you can check out my Flickr url:

Ready. Set. Go.
In terms of the formatting, you're allowed to use markdown, textile, or basic html; it's truly up to you -- what strikes your fancy?
You don't have to worry about your e-mail address being sold to a russian-spam-mafia. I'm only going to use it for my own weird needs; like asking you out for a date on a lonely night of coding.
