I'm surprised that we haven't seen any bragging on the Rails blog yet...."92% of seats are sold in the first 36 hours!!!ZOMG!" or something.

It makes me wonder if the price hike had a bigger effect on sales than assumed? Though obviously, the O'Reilly have little to gain by the conference selling out quickly. They'd be best off if they could determine the price that would only find enough attendees such that it sells out the day before the thing starts. If this one takes awhile to reach capacity, maybe next year it will stay under $1000. If it blows out in a week, next year we could be paying java conference money.

I signed up today, as did two colleagues. I suspect it'll take a couple weeks to sell out, but we'll see...

I'll be going, with at least three of my coworkers from [Viget](http://www.viget.com) - I think 48 hours might be a bit ambitious, though. I say they'll last a full week.
